What to Expect with In-Home Massage
Booking with Still Waters Massage Therapy allows you to receive a high quality, relaxation massage from the comfort of your own home.A Therapist will arrive at your home with all necessary equipment and will begin setup after an initial greeting.Once the space has been prepared you will sit down with the Therapist and complete a medical intake form. During this time you will have the opportunity to express the types of pain or discomfort you are experiencing, as well as indicate areas that you would like to focus on or avoid.Please be aware that the setup and intake process can take up to 30 minutes. This process will not impact the length of massage that you receive.Once this has been completed, the Therapist will leave the room and allow you time to undress to your comfort level. You will then lie down on the massage table underneath the blanket and sheets.When the Therapist returns they will begin the Swedish Massage, which consists of slow, sweeping glides across the muscles. This promotes healthy blood flow to the muscle fibers, which can relieve tension and reduce both long-term and short-term pain. It is not unusual to let your mind wander or even to drift off to sleep. A Swedish massage is a profoundly relaxing experience, and it can provide you with some much needed stillness in a world that never slows down.
A Swedish massage is typically a full body massage. This can include work on parts of the body that some may find unpleasant, such as feet, glutes, abdomen, and upper chest muscles.
Your Comfort and Safety is the number one priority.
If there is any area you would like to avoid please make your therapist aware and they will be happy to proceed accordingly. Once the massage is complete, your Therapist will leave the room and allow you time to redress. For your safety, please move slowly and carefully during this time.Once you are dressed, please retrieve your Therapist.
